PROGRAMS

These unique programs are the result of artists joining forces and sharing resources needed to create a space for other Artist Instructor members to impact lives. These programs are how we carry out our mission as an organization. Please read about the various avenues of impact below:

402 LESSON STUDIO

The 402 Lesson Studio is the largest program within our organization. This program was designed to help artists grow. We believe the next generation is in desperate need of people with a heart for teaching to pass on their skills and abilities. This program is reaching hundreds of students every week. Students pay an affordable tuition standard rate for either 30 or 60-minute lessons at one of our studio facilities. If finances are a challenge, we offer a number of scholarships and financial assistance every student can apply for.

402 ACTING ACADEMY

The 402 Acting Academy strives to equip others with the skills needed to grow on stage, on screen, at home, or in the workplace. Through performance art, we teach our four Core Values - Affirm, Trust, Listen, Create - honing in on the skills required to respond to whatever life presents.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

JARED SMITH

“As an artist instructor, I get to be part of an a amazing team - truly a group of passionate, gifted, caring creatives; it’s pretty awesome.  Along the way, I trade paint with some of the instructors – and even the students – and some of those qualities and characteristics they carry as a teacher or a learner rub off, and guess what I get? I get to learn!  The benefit is that not only am I stimulated to grow as a musician - and by virtue, become a more effective instructor - but I get to learn how to better serve those around me. And as I am finding creative and innovative ways to do that, it brings both life and freedom of expression and interpretation through the medium of music. I absolutely love it!”

Jenny Murphy

“Being a part of the 402 as an artist instructor has given me the opportunity to understand the creative process from a different point of view. Ultimately, art is an expression of the mind, heart, and soul of the artist, communicated to the mind, heart, and soul of the viewer. Helping artists learn new skills broadens my understanding of people and their connection to the work created.”
