Sydney Chase has a passion for the arts and is in fact a visual artist herself. She was selected to attend the Kentucky Governor’s School of the Arts in 2011 as a visual artist. Sydney was also selected to show her work at the Carnegie in Covington, Kentucky in 2011. Briefly attending school at Judson University and the Kansas City Art Institute, Sydney has a growing passion for the arts and community. She is currently one of the visual art instructors at the 402 as well as the 402 Community Engagement Coordinator. She is also the head curator of the 402 Gallery. In her free time Sydney works on her own body of work.
Her roles here at The 402 Arts Collective include organizing and planning upcoming community events, engaging with the community on a macro and micro level, curating the 402 Gallery, as well as assisting in getting our message out to the public in a professional manner. You will see Sydney around The 402 office pretty much every day. She will be either be installing new work in the 402 Gallery, teaching a lesson, hosting a Benson First Friday community art project or typing feverishly on her Mac. No matter what she is doing, Sydney usually finds herself covered in art supplies.
