An Omaha native, Paige started her musical career at age 8 when her uncle started giving her drum set lessons. At age 9, she joined the public school string program as a violinist. In middle school, after a bit of persuading by her music teacher, she transitioned to double bass and a few months later knew she had found her career. She began playing jazz the following year and was involved in every ensemble her high school had to offer. During the school year at UNO, Paige studied with Jeremy Baguyos, Andy Hall, Roger Foltz, and Dana Murray and played in groups big and small encompassing the realms of orchestral, wind band, and jazz. She spent her collegiate summers as a camp counselor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan where she performed in a Festival Orchestra and Jazz band that consisted of musicians from around the world.
Paige graduated from UNO in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance with an emphasis in Music Technology. She is an active bassist in the area playing in musicals and jazz combo. Paige also plays with her husband and saxophonist Chris in the Midwest’s premier salsa orchestra Esencia Latina based in Omaha. Paige teaches double bass, beginning electric bass, music theory, beginning jazz improv, and is also a jazz combo coach.
