Megan Siebe, originally from Grand Island, NE, moved to Omaha about 8 years ago. She began playing cello when she was 10-years-old. She also learned electric bass, piano, and percussion (timpani, mallet percussion, etc) as she went through her school career. She began playing in the Hastings Symphony when she was 13 years old and played many concerts with them for 6 years.
After deciding to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Megan studied cello with David Low and received a Bachelors of Music Education K-12 degree in 2011.
During and after college, Megan began playing cello, violin, and viola with various music groups around town, including Anniversaire and Simon Joyner. She has toured both the United States as well as the United Kingdom and Europe with Simon Joyner as well as filling in cello for Cursive, playing small/large venues and festivals. She also has arranged/played strings on numerous albums recorded at the 402 Arts collective, ARC, and in other various artists recording studios (Megan has even recorded in a bathroom once!!!).
Besides playing music, she loves being outside riding her bike or hiking out at Hitchcock. She also love creating things, whether that's drawing, painting, or crocheting something new!
