Kyle Moeller was born in Lincoln and moved to Omaha at the age of nine. With three years of piano lessons already under his belt, he was then faced with the problem that every child faces at that age…”Do you want to play clarinet or percussion in the school band?” Kyle chose percussion. After spending four years learning how to play nine stroke rolls, flam a diddles, and other drum rudiments, he decided at the age of thirteen to explore the more creative side of music, rather than focus on the performance side of it. He has been steeped in creating music ever since. At fifteen, he began writing, recording, and performing in various original bands and has continued to do so both locally and regionally (including Nashville…is that regional?).
After high school, he took an interest in sound engineering and studied recording, composition, and ear training among other courses to hone in his skills as a musician. During this time, he was still involved in the Omaha music scene, finding time to take his band throughout the Midwest between credit hours at Northeast. He currently enjoys recording drums almost as much as he enjoys playing them. And now, as he enters into the era of “his 30′s,” Kyle would love to see his passion for creating music realized among the next generation of up-and-coming musicians. He wants to do this by helping them develop their abilities and prepare them for the realities of working with other musicians in a collaborative setting. As of late, Kyle has been more of a freelance artist, lending his drumming abilities to various local musicians and churches.
His philosophy is “Yeah, I’m totally down to jam with you!” In his down time, he enjoys debating with his three boys about who would win battles in the Marvel Universe and pondering what it would be like if Spiderman joined up with the original Avengers.
