Johnny Venegas was born in Viña del Mar, Chile and moved to the U.S. with his parents and younger brother in June of 2000. His father was sent to Nebraska by the Pentecostal Church in Chile as a missionary pastor. Through this outlet, Johnny became heavily involved in worship ministry at a very young age. He began learning piano at the age of ten, and by the age of 15 he was leading and directing worship in different worship settings.
Growing up in an era where MIDI, synth, and keys were very popular, it sparked a passion for Johnny as a pianist. Over the years he has developed proficiency in programs such as Ableton, Reason, Mainstage, and many more. Johnny has used these tools to enhance worship experiences and concerts of many styles.
Johnny graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA with a Music and Ministry Degree and concentrated on piano and voice. Has has also worked at various churches in the past 5 years as worship director. Johnny’s biggest desire is to equip and train musicians to always pursue excellence with the gifts they’ve been given.
Johnny currently lives in Omaha with his wife Courtney, who will be attending medical school at UNMC in the fall of 2017. Johnny and Courtney, who is also a worship leader, continue to lead worship in various ministry opportunities in the Midwest.
