Candace Gould has always had a love for music. Her first solo was in the Christmas Program at her church when she was about 4 years old. From that time to now, Candace has grown as a musician and a vocalist. Through collegiate and professional performance opportunities, she has performed around the city and the country.
After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2008, Candace worked for corporate America and a non-profit as a full-time career woman. While working she realized there was something missing from her daily work life. As a friend began to tell her about their studies in music, she finally realized what was missing. She began taking classes for a Music Degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and graduated with her second Bachelor’s Degree in 2014. While at UNO she studied with Dr. LeAnne Foust (private voice) and Dr. Matthew Harden (Chamber and Concert choir). She also participated in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Kimberly Lomax and University Band (alto saxophone).
Before achieving her degree in Music, Candace served and continues to serve as a choir director and a leader of the Praise & Worship Team at her church. She enjoys teaching what she has learned to both choirs and small groups. Candace has found her purpose and is blessed to be able to say she loves her job. She says, “If someone told me in high school that I would be teaching music today, I wouldn’t have believed them. But I know for sure that this is what I was born to do.”
Since graduation, Candace has been teaching both Voice and Beginner Piano. She is also co-owner of Music With Us and owner of CMG Music. She encourages her students to sing songs they are comfortable with, but also challenges her students to learn new things. She believes in the potential of each of her students and challenges them to be the best musicians they can be. She appreciates the opportunity to work with students of all ages and at all musical levels. Whatever the genre, she’s up for the challenge. She believes that her sessions not only help build musicianship, but also self-confidence.
