Ben Shafer is a singer-songwriter, composer and guitarist who has a passion to see the arts community grow in the city of Omaha, but also in the greater Midwest. Ben has spent the last 15 years of his life in the Midwest music scene traveling as a lead singer in various bands and for his own solo projects. Starting five years ago, Ben has spent his time working with churches developing worship bands and musicians. His passions for reaching out to the community and educating young minds has branched into various different venues, and continues to grow.

As co-founder and Executive Director of the 402 Arts Collective, Ben spends most of his time facilitating the many developing divisions of art forms and other areas of growth in the organization.

Activities he enjoys include spending time with his wife and three boys, writing music, backpacking, camping, and fixing things with his hands.

The 402 Podcast

The 402 Arts Collective Podcast was launched in June of 2019. Ben serves as the host of the podcast and features local and regional artists who demonstrate the values, character, and mission of the 402 Arts Collective organization.
